After much research and deliberation, I found and fell in love with Zenfolio. It's simple, easy and secure. I can host my portfolio on Zenfolio and have my clients access their pictures. Although, I still prefer to use personal consultation sessions for reviewing session pictures, this is a handy tool to promote my work.
So (drum roll please!)...I give you
Memorable Jaunts Portfolio
Check it out and do let me know what you think!...I value your feeback :)
{Lifestyle Portraiture} Sneak Peek - Just because - R & J
This photo session is about a young couple, R and J, who were willing to spend a Sunday morning walking around downtown Naperville - window shopping, strolling hand in hand, chatting, and being silly. It was such a pleasure photographing them. Of course it also helps that I have known them for over eight years. R loves to cook, enjoys sipping tea, and thoroughly digs travelling. J loves being with R and enjoys all the above as well :)
They spent an hour with me and then went to downtown Chicago for a play and dinner - How fun!
So guys, here is a sneak peak at this morning's session. Hope you had as much fun as I did and thanks for being such good sports.
Awww, how cute is this! :) and this one - totally unprompted and utterly adorable :)
I love these B&W ones :)
Move over Dick Tracy, there is a new detective in town!!!!
We had to end the session with letting our hair loose! - I asked them to be goofy and got some of my "favorite" shots :)

{Lifestyle Portraiture} Sneak Peek - A Saturday morning photo session at school!
February 25, 2011
One Saturday morning, not too long ago, there was a school that was turned into a photo studio. There were comfy cushions, tables, toys, reading nooks, rocking chairs, a child's theater setup AND six wonderful families who came to get their pictures taken!
The families smiled, laughed, read books, snuggled, and kissed while a photographer hovered around and happily snapped away!
Some of the results are below - Thank you Compass families, I had a blast and sincerely appreciate you allowing me to be part of your Saturday morning. I hope you enjoy your "sneak peaks".
Keep an eye out for an email from me regarding the rest of your pictures.

{Personal Expressions} Winter Birthdays are extra special and extra fun
February 15, 2011
For those of us who live in cold climates, winter birthdays are dreaded. Especially for kids. What do we do? How can we celebrate a child's birthday when it is -10deg outside with 12 inches of snow on the ground???.
I feel winter birthday are so much more fun to plan. You have to get creative but there is so much you can do. Have a costume party, have a movie night complete with popcorn and icecream or take the whole gang to the tropics with an indoor pool party!!!. That is exactly what the K family did for a sweet girl who turned 5 and let me tell you, it was a SUPER DOOPER HIT!.
The kids has such a blast swiming and splashing in the warm pool waters while looking at the snow outside from the glass walls. There was something so right, and at the same time, so wrong with that picture :) - but noone complained.

{Personal Expressions} Valentine's Day 2011
I remember too well the excitement of Vday during my college going years.
These days, the celebrations start at an early age - even at the toddler level. Of course their version is so much more innocent - all they are looking forward to is candy, candy and more candy :).
The prep work starts weeks in advance. The entire school is decorated in red and pink hearts with sweet messages and declarations of love.
Here's wishing you a very happy valentine's day - from our family to you and yours!

{Personal Expressions} Green
February 07, 2011
Each week, S learns about a color in school. The whole week is focused on that color - ending with a day where the kids have to dress in that particular color. We have gone through "boo"(blue), "yalo"(yellow), "ra" (red) and finally landed on "ge"(green).
Just looking at these makes my heart warmer and my legs twitch to go out and explore!
In keeping with the current color theme and in anticipation of seeing some green outside while we experience one of the coldest days of this winter, I dug out some photos depicting the color "ge".
A girl can dream, right! and the groundhog did predict a shorter winter after all!!!

Check out the mini-photo shoot of some of the little furry friends who captured my heart and made me come back home and give Ms.B a big hug and a treat. In return, I got a big wet smooch :) and a furious tail wag.
