{Travel Log} School's checked out and Summer's checked in! | Midwest Outdoor Travel

The day has finally come when school is out and summer has started in full swing!

Summer count down began weeks go and the first day of "freedom" was celebrated with a bang :) - We packed the car and drove for a couple of hours and did what we love to do most - HIKE!!

The sun was shining super bright but the trees around us offered much needed shade.

Who says hiking is no fun - as long as you have your toys in your hand...you can do anything!

After hiking in thick vegetation, the path opened up to a beautiful sight - SAND & WATER! :)

After hiking in 90deg heat - the best way to cool down is to park your bottom (including your tail) into the water!!

I love this picture...It has CAREFREE written all over it. The hats came off and became makeshift bags to collect stones and skip them in the water!.....Ahhh! the simple joys of summer!
